Wildlife and leisure parks in Kintzheim

At the foot of Haut-Kœnigsbourg, Kintzheim brings together three must-do family outings, just a few minutes apart.

At Monkey Mountain (Montagne des Singes), more than 200 Barbary macaques live freely in a 24-hectare forest, with no cages or bars. You walk among them and can offer them the popcorn handed out at the entrance.

In the ruins of Kintzheim castle, the Volerie des Aigles, the first bird-of-prey park created in France (1968), puts on shows where eagles, vultures, falcons and owls fly just above the spectators’ heads.

Finally, Cigoland, a park dedicated to the stork, the emblem of Alsace, offers rides suited to younger children.

Good to know: the parks are open in season, roughly from March to November. Check their calendars before you come.
