Eagle Park
Set in the ruins of Kintzheim castle, a medieval fortress overlooking the Alsace plain, the Volerie des Aigles is the first bird-of-prey park created in France, in 1968. It was founded to change the public’s view of raptors, long misunderstood, and today takes part in their breeding and conservation.
Several times a day, the free-flight show sends eagles, vultures, falcons, kites and owls skimming just above the spectators’ heads, among the old stones of the castle. For around forty minutes, the falconers describe the life and hunting techniques of each bird.
Good to know: the park is open in season, from March to November, and show times vary depending on the period. It is easy to combine with Monkey Mountain and Cigoland, just nearby.
